Empowering Marginalized Youth Through Higher Education and Career Opportunities |
At NYSASDRI, we believe that every youth, regardless of caste or economic background, deserves access to quality education and meaningful employment. Through our NYSASDRI School of Journalism & Social Work (NSJS) College, we have been working extensively to support young individuals from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) in accessing government scholarships offered by the Government of Odisha for pursuing postgraduate studies. For many of these students, higher education was once a distant dream due to financial limitations. With our assistance in navigating the scholarship process, these young minds are now able to enrol in master's degree programs, gaining both academic and personal growth. The impact has been transformative. Upon completing their education, these students are securing placements across a wide range of sectors, including within NYSASDRI itself, other NGOs, private sector companies, and prestigious government programs such as the National Health Mission (NHM), Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project (OFSDP), Mission Shakti, and Odisha Tribal Empowerment and Livelihoods Programme (OTELP). Many have also ventured into journalism, contributing to both print and electronic media. This journey from disadvantage to achievement not only uplifts individual lives but also strengthens the social fabric of our state.
