What We Are |
|
The National Youth Service Action and Social Development Research Institute (NYSASDRI) is a registered non profit, non governmental organization based in Odisha, India. Established in 1973, our mission is to build a fair and healthy society where even the poorest communities have the power and opportunity to live with dignity, access resources equally, and improve their quality of life. |
Over the years, NYSASDRI has worked tirelessly to support the most marginalized groups in some of the most remote and underserved parts of Central Odisha areas where tribal populations are high and nearly 80% of households live below the poverty line. Our development efforts have directly reached more than 5.2 million underprivileged individuals, including women, children, small farmers, artisans, elderly persons, people with disabilities, and the destitute.
|
We follow an integrated approach that combines direct services with research, advocacy, and partnerships. With a committed team of over 140 professionals, NYSASDRI runs a wide range of programs in tribal and rural areas. These include sustainable livelihood development, access to clean drinking water, sexual and reproductive health education, non formal education for girls, basic healthcare, micro credit initiatives, disaster response, and restoring eyesight through Kalinga Eye Hospital in Dhenkanal.
We also work in areas such as elderly care, disability support, HIV/AIDS assistance, malaria prevention, local agriculture promotion, village infrastructure, and human rights awareness. |
