Strengthening food
security for Nayakateni villagers
The Nayakateni village committee
constructed improvements to this irrigation project
which now stores far more water than before. As
a result, about 250 acres of land are irrigated,
by which 52 fishing families benefit through renewed
employment opportunities , fishing, water storage,
general irrigation and reducing soil erosion.
Thus food availability and food security has increased
for those tribes.
