NYSASDRI
becomes First NGO in Public Private Partnership
for Health.
NYSASDRI
again added another milestone in its history
and also in history of public healthcare
in Orissa by entering into memorandum of
understanding (MoU) with government of Orissa
to manage two defunct Primary Health Centres
(PHC)- New in the state.
The organisation signed the MoU with the
district administration of Jajpur to functionalise
the PHC (N) at Atta, Sukinda (Jajpur). Another
similar MoU has been signed with the district
administration of Dhenkanal to manage the
PHC (N) at Khankira, Gondia (Dhenkanal).
As per the agreement NYSASDRI would be responsible
for delivering regular and quality healthcare
service to the community by these two PHCs
(N).
NYSASDRI has started work in both the health
centres and two Hospital Management Committees
(HMCs), one for each PHC (N) has been formed
to supervise the service delivery.
The government has handed over these PHC
(N)s on ‘experimental’ basis
and plans to involve more NGOs in similar
activities in public health services. These
two hospitals would be managed under a community
health project, implemented by NYSASDRI
in partnership with the Interact Worldwide,
London. The Project is funded by the European
Union.
