| Regional and National Consultation |
Consultations provide a platform for
those involved in various social issues to share ideas
and deliberate on strategies to address the need of
the community. Specialists present papers in such meetings.
This helps in understanding the issue in a broader perspecyive
and advocates for a pro-poor policy and action. |
| WOMEN CONGREGATION SAW RISE IN FEMININE POWER |
A conference of Women Self Help Groups was organized by NYASDRI in the month of December to assess the degree of progress made by these self help groups formed under the project CEASHE. |
|
 |
|
More than 500 women from the SHGs formed by NYSASDRI conglomerated in front of ATTA PHC and shared their valuable experience on how the group was formed, how they are meeting with regularity and what are the right and action movement they have taken up etc. This forum presented an excellent opportunity for the participants to know from each others sharing. The forum was also addressed by NYSASDRI delegates and they all came out with options that an apex body in the form of SHG federation is perhaps the next step they are willing to go for.
Similarly Swasthya Mela was organized by NYSASDRI at Khankira and more than 1500 women along their children were present .Health check ups for all these women were done and medicines were distributed free of cost. The organization of these two activities has increased the potential as well as the confidence of staff of NYSASDRI and it proved that the things can be changed if women took active part in these type of activities. |
Participatory
Impact Monitoring: A Yardstick of
Measuring Impact |
To
enhance the skills of NYSASDRI staff on Impact Monitoring
in a participatory
approach second phase of workshop was organized by Ms.
Anke Schuarman,
Programme Advisor, from GAA, Bangalore on Dt23rd June’06.
In first phase
during Dec’05, she had explained about measuring
networking and linkages
among SHGs through chapatti/Vein diagrams as well as
to administer
questionnaire/interview among the women members to test
the degree of
empowerment or leadership. At this juncture, she had
reviewed the correctness
of data and procedure of data collection to test the
extent of linkages & networking
through the chapattis. |
|
 |
|
|
A comparison of the averages
of various linkages collected
from two different areas was made from the summated
score sheet by the
resource person. She explained how to measure a particular
SHG’s effectivity
within a specified time interval and to work on the
target achievements to build
better linkage of SHGs. |
Simultaneously
to know the degree of empowerment/leadership of women,
collected data by the two groups of participants were
analyzed and Ms. Anke
suggested collecting data particularly to meet the indicators.
Accordingly
questions were revised and properly sequenced. Number
of Indicators to measure
above aspect was also modified. She gave assignments
of administering the
revised questionnaire for pre test. |
