Increase in income Through women groups in Keonjhar

We formed 43 womens Self Help Groups in 22 villages in Telkoi block in Keonjhar district. They are sincerely and constantly making efforts to save money in their community fund. In May 2001 they had a total of Rs. 5,86,223/-. The 43 groups total 745 women, each carrying individual savings books. They received credit from NYSASDRI to start trades for income generation, and, as a result, the income level of the individual has increased by Rs.1000/- to Rs.1500/- per month. This brings with it food security and a better quality of life.
