Sustainable Development through Food Security

Ensuring Lives 

The overall objective of the programme is to promote food security of tribal people through better management of available water resources in 15 tribal villages of Gondia block in combination with strengthening the village committees, and through improved knowledge and skills. The programme was initiated in 2004 with the financial support of Germany Agro Action (GAA).

Major activities in programme include, construction of micro water harvesting structures, land development, demonstration plot development, scientific agricultural training, child and adult education, skill development on income generation, support through start-up capital and introduction of soil erosion control methods and enhanced water management practice among the farmers.  This programme aims at benefiting 300 households.
