NYSASDRI, since inception,
is committed for development of the poor and the
vulnerable. In
the 21st Century, the organisation is
facilitating a future in which every one of Orissa’s
poor and downtrodden people has a voice and will empower
themselves to eradicate their abject poverty. With a
strong, experienced and dedicated team of professionals
the organisation is determined to achieve its goals and
mission. In near future the organisation intends to
intervene in the following areas.

To
address the immediate poverty needs of poor and
marginalised people and enhance food security in
tribal areas.

Capacity
building of the most vulnerable sections of the
community.

Influencing
government, corporations and media in favour of the
poor and marginalised.
-
Promote
gender equity and justice.
-
To
promote better health through sex and reproductive
health right education.
-
Establish
a maternity hospital at the district heads quarter
of Dhenkanal.
-
Construction
of water harvesting structures, watersheds, check
dams, and do land levelling, promote sustainable
farming, reducing use of chemicals, build up
capacity of farmers, encourage grain banks and above
all promote.

Improved
agricultural practices for promoting agriculture in
the project area.
-
Policy
level SRH advocacy in Orissa to incorporate sex
education in schools and community sensitization programme on SRH.

Child
Education, Nutrition, Health Care services for 5000
children in the above mentioned 7 districts.
-
Eye
care treatment and cataract surgery programme in
Dhenkanal, Angul and other neighbouring districts
(3000 surgery per year).

Rehabilitation
of 500 older persons in Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar
and Jagatsingpur districts.

Community
based rehabilitation for disables and
leprosy-affected persons.

To
advocate on people’s right to information.
-
Creating
employment opportunities for 500 poor tribal
unemployed youths in the project area through
vocational training.
-
Educating
5000 non-school going and dropouts at primary
level.
-
Increasing
the income level of 10,000 low-income families in
though micro-finance activities.
-
To
establish Community Based Disaster Preparedness Unit
at each disaster prone districts.
